Why does Chrome freeze when saving files on my Windows PC?
I have a custom-built Windows PC that is six years old and has a 500 GB SSD for the OS and a 2 TB Kingston HDD for extra storage. I use Google Chrome as my browser and I often need to download files from the internet for my video editing work. However, I encounter a problem where Chrome becomes unresponsive when I try to save files using the "Save as" option. This happens about 70% of the time and I have to wait for several minutes before the "Save as" dialog box shows up normally. Sometimes, I can force-close the dialog box and try again, but this is very frustrating and time-consuming. I have recorded a video of this issue for more clarity (video here).
I suspect that this issue is related to my HDD, because I also have trouble playing videos from that drive using Windows Media Player. It takes a long time to load and then gives me an error message saying "server execution failed". However, when I import the same videos into Adobe Premiere Pro, they play fine without any issues. I don't understand why this is happening and how to fix it. Can anyone help me with this?
